Navigate The Airport Like A Jet Set Babe

This blog post is an article I wrote for a digital publication for hypergamous-minded women called Let's Sweet Talk.

The key to traveling like a jet-set babe is embodying luxury as you travel. It’s less about where you’re going and more about fixing your mindset on enjoying the experience. You can either drag yourself through the airport like a crazy person or transform your holiday travel into a luxurious adventure. For starters, the opposite of luxury is running yourself ragged. So give yourself one day to rest before and after your travel day as best you can. Don’t forget to schedule your ride-share services ahead of time.

Pro tip: Consider purchasing a first-class ticket to enjoy full comfort and customer service on long flights.

Your Carry-On

When preparing for your trip, I beg of you: please do not wait until the last minute to pack. A lady is always prepared! Packing in advance allows you to experience more ease in your travel plans. Speaking of ease, I highly suggest packing the following items in your carry-on:

  • Extra Cash

  • Deodorant

  • Travel-Size Facial Moisturizer like the Laneige Hydrate and Snooze Set

  • Hydrating or Brightening Eye Mask like the Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Rose Gold Eye Masks

  • Travel-Size Hand Lotion like the Nécessaire The Hand Cream with Peptide

  • Travel-Size Toothbrush and Toothpaste

  • Disinfectant Wipes

  • Cozy Socks or Slippers

  • An Extra Pair of Underwear

  • An Extra Top

  • A Good Book or a Culture and Lifestyle Magazine

You may want to level up your traveling equipment for function and style. I am currently eyeing The Large Check-in Luggage by Beis and these Mulberry Silk Neck Pillows on Amazon. Also, a passport wallet makes it easy to access and secure your important documents. Another level-up is traveling with your wellness in mind. Consider packing magnesium to help you avoid jet lag, melatonin to help you sleep, and vitamin C to boost your immune system. Finally, download any audiobooks or videos you may need for the flight the day before.

Dress to Impress

It is always better to be overdressed than underdressed. When you travel, comfort comes first but not at the expense of looking amazing! My go-to airport wear is a pair of soft, flattering bottoms, shoes that come off quickly, a solid turtleneck, a large scarf that doubles as a blanket, and a trench. Next, I accessorize with delicate jewelry and a medium-sized leather handbag.

Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t believe an airport is a place for casual athletic wear. You never know who you’ll connect with at an airport. It’s a great place to freestyle with a high concentration of eligible men. He could be catching coffee before takeoff to BOS. Or is he sitting in a restaurant during his layover to LHR? Or he’s checking in with TSA Pre-Check at ORD. Regardless, you don’t want to find him while wearing potato clothes.

Help Them Help You

Last but not least, you’d be surprised how people willingly do you a favor when you are pleasant, especially when everyone around you is entitled or erratic. To embody jet-set babe energy at the airport, you must be the Zen. When you’re looking for help from airline staff, acting out of frustration will get you nowhere. Request what you need or even speak with the manager, but always be as kind as possible. Honestly, the staff is probably overworked, underpaid, and over it. A feminine woman extends grace and patience, especially to those there to help her.
